Stardust Falls

Stardust Falls is a solitaire roll and write space opera wargame. The galaxy is falling beneath the endless and unstoppable swarms of the Blight. Soon they will reach Imperia Prime and all the Empire fleets can do is slow them down. Humanity's last chance is gathering enough Shards to launch a secret weapon that will obliterate the Blight.

Components

Game is designed to be printed and played from a two sheet of A4/Letter. It's a roll and write so four D6 and pen will also be required.

Play Time

Solo game, expected playtime is 20-30 minutes

Designer Notes

This is my second board game design (the first was for the Solo PNP contest) and it's my first wargame. Once again I'm sticking with a solo roll and write as I like the format, but this time I wanted to add a bit more mechanical complexity.

The concept for this game came from thinking how to do a roll and write wargame, where the format dictates it's easier to add markers than take them away. So I went for an overwhelming unstoppable force that you can slow down but never stop. This gives it a bit of a Pandemic vibe in terms of gameplay. With theme it's a bit more like Struggle for the Galactic Empire, as I love classic space opera.
